The PATENTED polyvalent metal ion resin (PMIB) developed by AFFILAND® is capable of forming stable octahedral complexes with all heavy metal ions at the physiological pH.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE RESIN

Matrix: Approx. 100 Ám (dry bead size).
Ligand: Pentadentate chelator.
Flow rate: Very high.
High binding capacity for polyvalent metal ions: approx. 150 Ámoles of metal ions per ml of resin. The chelation complexes are stable.
No detectable binding for monovalent metal ions (Na+, K+...).
No detectable binding for proteins.
Long life & regenerable resin: Minimum 20 cycles without significant loss of binding capacity with regeneration for routine use.
